Art Exhibition at Concordia Library: "Walking With"
Concordia Library is pleased to present Walking With curated and produced by Pohanna Pyne Feinberg and presented in the Webster Library entrance staircase (located in the LB Building) from October 9th to 22nd, 2018.
Walking With is a research-creation project that explores walking as a form of artistic inquiry and expression. Walking generates embodied knowledge through encounters with the dynamics of place. We become more of ourselves with each moment. Likewise, as we leave our trace, our presence shapes where we walk. Twelve artists were invited to share their insights about how walking informs their practice. The invitation is now extended to you, the listener, to join us as we reflect on the pedagogical potential of walking. How and what do you learn while walking? Each of the contributing artists has created at least one art work within the region of Tio'ta:ke - Mooniyang - Montréal. As a localized portrait of contemporary walking art practices, Walking With reveals the range of motivations and ruminations that co-exist amongst artists who walk here.
Contributing artists: Cam, Sylvie Cotton, Natalie Doonan, Ette, Dominique Ferraton, Sylvie Laplante, Andra McCartney, Emilie Monnet, Taien Ng-Chan, karen elaine spencer, Victoria Stanton, Kathleen Vaughan.
