Pathway to Permanent Residency
Information Session for International Students
March 1, 2018, 2:30 p.m. – 4 p.m.
International students are “temporary residents” in Canada. If you want to stay in Canada longer, you can apply to immigrate as a “permanent resident” (PR). There are a range of programs whereby international students may apply for permanent immigration: this can be done through education, through work experience or because of exceptional cases such as undue hardship.
Immigration policy changes quickly, so it is important to pay attention for updates. This workshop focuses on the most common pathways currently available to Concordia students:
- Economic vs political immigration
- Federal vs provincial programs
- Rights & obligations as a permanent resident
