During this time of consumer overload, organizers of Don’t Buy That! are inviting individuals to gather as a community and make things instead! Come and share your DIY skills, craft gifts, talk anti-consumerism and celebrate the holiday season. The Concordia University Centre for Creative Reuse (CUCCR) will provide most materials, but feel free to bring your own or some to share if you have something specific in mind!
Things to expect:
free hot drinks & snacks
feel free to bring something to share
This year's making stations will include:
paper crafts and collage cards
bookbinding and custom journal making
beeswax wraps
knitting help
a sewing station for cutlery pouches
a take-what-you-need decor station
Bring your own ideas and projects and use some of the Art Hive materials.
This a free event! Just bring yourself, your friends and your DIY skills. The space, located on the fifth floor of Concordia’s Engineering, Computer Science and Visual Arts Integrated Complex (EV), is fully accessible, with ramps to first floor, elevators and accessible bathrooms.
This event takes place on Tio’tia:ke (a.k.a Montreal), unceded Kanien’keha:ka (Mohawk) territory.
Event partners include The Dish Project, Sustainable Concordia, Zero Waste Concordia and Art Hives.
