Info Session: Alternative Spring Break and CEED Concordia
Want to volunteer, develop new skills, make friends and have fun? Then ASB or CEED could be for you. Come get all the info you need to dive into your service-learning experience.
The Alternative Spring Break (ASB) program is a transformative service-learning experience in which students, staff and faculty prepare for and partake in a week of hands-on volunteering with a community partner during Reading Week. Participants prepare for meaningful community service by attending workshops that cover issues around community development, concepts in service learning, teamwork, leadership and conflict resolution. Throughout the workshops and during the week of service, participants are encouraged to engage in critical thinking and personal reflection in order to enrich their academic experience and foster civic responsibility.
CEED Concordia is a fee-levy association of Concordia University and a non-profit organization operating in Montreal, Canada and Gulu, Uganda. We are an organization dedicated to social justice, community empowerment and positive change by supporting youth in our communities. CEED offers Concordia and Ugandan students an opportunity to contribute to sustainable community projects in northern Uganda for 3-month internships during the summer semester.
