This studio course is designed to support and foster students in the conceptual development, dramaturgy, and realization of creating site-specific performances. In this course students will be introduced to critical readings and methods for building relationships to the city, urban space(s), the built environment, time, audience and other media through performance creation, as well as explore how site-specific theatre practice can frame social political, community engagements with the city and urgent urban issues. Classes will be devoted to the research, creation and performance of a public site-specific event to take place in an off campus location.
