Through the Eye of Caregivers: an ethnodrama on mental illness in the family
AMI-Quebec Action on Mental Illness and the Centre for Arts in Human Development at Concordia University proudly present this artful dramatic performance.
Based on the transcriptions of interviews with over twenty caregivers, this play is a kind of research in which the report is a performance of the informants’ lived experiences with being a caregiver. In fact, this is a form of health education aiming to create new approaches to any given health situation; in this case, for caregivers of loved ones with a mental illness. We are inviting audience members to participate in before-and-after voluntary feedback sessions, through an anonymous questionnaire, relating to our mental health education research. After the post-show questionnaire, there will be a discussion with the audience.
