When Participatory Action Science Empowers Community and Agency in a Non-Profit Organization
Julie Chacra and Gilbert Émond

Over the past year, we have been working with BBBS of Greater Montreal (Big Brothers and Big Sisters) in a participative action science project.  The goals are to make explicit the impacts of mentoring relationships in collaboration with the staff and administrators of the non-profit organization.  One year in, we have been through ups and downs... and we are seeing their agency rise as they are empowered by discoveries, meaning-making, and pride in the work that we are doing together.
