Department lecture with guest speaker Geoffrey Kellow
The Department of Political Science presents a public lecture on the Civic Education of the Spirit of Commerce: Benjamin Franklin on American Ambition by Geoffrey Kellow, associate professor in the College of the Humanities and the Department of Political Science at Carleton University. The lecture will take place Thursday, November 8 at 4 p.m. in room 1220 in the Henry F. Hall (H) Building (1455 De Maisonneuve Blvd. W.). Admission is free.
Kellow is a historian of political and economic thought. His work focuses on the political and economic thought of the Enlightenment. He is currently engaged in a long project examining the cultural and philosophic substance and significance of Benjamin Franklin’s autobiography. Kellow is the co-editor of On Civic Republicanism published in 2016 by the University of Toronto Press.
