Do you know someone who's attending an event at Concordia this summer? An out-of-towner who's coming to Montreal for the Canadian Grand Prix, or the Osheaga Music and Arts Festival? Before shelling out for a hotel room, they might want to consider staying on campus.

With rates starting at $49 a night and rooms in the heart of the city, this deal is hard to beat.

From May 1 to August 17, accommodations are available for individuals and groups at the Grey Nuns Building, a residence on Concordia’s Sir George Williams Campus in downtown Montreal. Rooms are also available on the Loyola Campus (please contact the university for details).

Steps away from many of the city’s renowned attractions, restaurants, theatres and museums, the beautiful and historic Grey Nuns Building is one of Montreal’s best-kept secrets for those looking for affordable group accommodations or travelling on a budget.

With 24-hour on-site security, a private, fully enclosed garden and park and even a koi pond, the residence is ideal for all kinds of school, sport, tour and conference groups.

Affordable rates, great amenities

Single rooms in the residence start at $49 per night and include a single bed (linens included), desk, armoire, fridge and sink. Internet service is also included.

Double rooms start at $69 per night and include two single beds (linens included), desks, armoires, fridges and a sink. Internet is also included.

Several private rooms with ensuite are also available. Rates range from $69 to $89 per night.

Each floor in the residence has multiple shared bathroom and shower facilities. There are also laundry rooms equipped with irons and ironing boards in the building. Self-serve kitchenettes — complete with coffee makers, kettles and microwaves — are located on each floor.

The residence’s many common rooms and game rooms are great places to relax and socialize, with cable television, DVD players and comfortable lounge furniture.
