Ireland's historic referendum on same-sex marriage
The people of Ireland are heading to the polls on Friday, May 22 to vote on a referendum to pass a same-sex marriage amendment. Since 2011, same-sex couples have been able to unite in a civil ceremony, but that’s not the same as marriage. Gilbert Emond, associate professor in the Department of Applied Human Sciences, can field questions on this historic vote.
