Commemoration of Armenian Genocide

On the heels of Pope Francis declaring the Turkish slaughter of Armenians in 1915 the “first genocide of the 20th century,” April 24 marks the 100th anniversary of the killings. Frank Chalk, professor in the Department of History and the director of the Montreal Institute for Genocide and Human Rights Studies, can comment on the anniversary and the Pope’s comments.
