Robert is president and founder of L.S. Financial Services Inc. and has over 25 years of experience in the financial industry. He is an expert in the pension industry and a recognized leader for his expertise in group health benefits and executive compensation packages. He also helps clients with their retirement planning and estate planning needs. He currently serves on the Empire Life Retail Advisory Council.

He is the former director of RDBA (Registered Deposit Broker Association), former co-chair of the Manulife Financial Advisory Council on retirement savings products, former director of Sun Life’s Group Retirement Services Plan Advisor Council and from January 2013 until December 2017 served on Manulife Bank’s Director Council.

Samantha is a success coach and author. She is also the founder of the Bossing Up movement, which empowers people to elevate their inner Boss and create opportunities for success. With a Concordia degree in the applied human sciences, Samantha helps grow entrepreneurs and their businesses alike.

Speaker: May Scally, EMBA 97

May Scally has more than 25 years of experience in global business development, operations management, manufacturing, marketing, and sales. She holds a Masters of Business Administration degree from Concordia's John Molson School of Business, specializing in Marketing.

Before joining Morgan Schaffer, Scally spent nine years managing and growing a Quebec-based scientific manufacturing company that produced products for the food safety and pharmaceutical industries. Prior to that, May had a twenty year career in the Canadian telecommunications industry.

May is accountable for the leadership of Morgan Schaffer’s day to day activities across all operational and customer facing functions within the Equipment division.

Bob has been advising graduate-level students at the John Molson School of Business for the last fourteen years. Bob has a BComm from McGill University and an MBA from the Schulich School of Business. Previously, he spent nine years working in the private education sector.

The workshop on negotiating your job offer will teach you the four major principles of negotiation and why these matter when discussing your job offer. Secondly, you will learn the key feautures of compensation that you may be offered and the ways you should negotiate each type of offer. Finally, I will give you insight into the various stages of a negotiation process.

Social media is a ruthless space, but it can either help or hurt your chances of employment. Learn how to properly present yourself on social media, the potential dangers and benefits of each platform, what employers look for and how to find the right job for you. 

James Stephan-Usypchuk is the CEO and founder of JSU Solutions, a digital marketing agency based in Montreal. What began as a small enterprise in 2012 has grown exponentially into an up-and-coming empire, earning Stephan-Usypchuk such nicknames as the “social media conversion scientist” and the “Facebook Ads whisperer.”

James has a background in Psychology and Communication Studies from which he draws heavily to reach an audience. His unique and innovative strategies give small brands the kind of marketing push usually reserved for large enterprises.
