Learn about the power of music and its effects on the human brain.

  • 2:30 p.m.-3:30 p.m.
  • John Molson School of Business, MB 2.130, 1450 Guy St.

Music can influence how we think, feel, and behave, and several studies support the positive effects it can have on us.

Laura Mitchell, an expert in psychology and music therapy, explores the power of music and dig deeper into the science behind how our brain processes music and what changes occur as a result of our exposure.

She will talk about key issues such as:

  • What are the different ways in which music can help?
  • Do the benevolent effects vary from person to person? If so, what causes these discrepencies?
  • Are certain types of music more therapeutic than others?
