Concordia buildings re-open except Webster Library

UPDATE (9 p.m.)

The gas leak that occurred late this afternoon, as a result of construction on Bishop St. between De Maisonneuve Blvd. W. and Sherbrooke, has been resolved.

As a result, all buildings are now open (please see below), except the R. Howard Webster Library, which will re-open at 9 a.m. on Friday, July 8. All activities and classes will be held, as scheduled, on Friday, July 8.

Buildings now open:

  • H-Henry F. Hall 
  • FB-Faubourg Building
  • FG-Faubourg Ste-Catherine St. W.
  • Bishop Annexes, between Sherbrooke St. W. and De Maisonneuve Blvd. W.
  • LB - J.W. McConnell a Library Building is open but the Webster Library will only open at 9 a.m. on Friday, July 8.


UPDATE (5:30 p.m.)

A gas leak led to the closure and evacuation of several buildings at Concordia.  As of July 7 at 5 p.m., all activities, including classes, are cancelled in the following buildings:

  • H - Henry F. Hall Building (1455 De Maisonneuve Blvd. W.)
  • FB - Faubourg Building (1250 Guy St.)
  • FG - Faubourg Ste-Catherine (1610 Ste-Catherine St. W.)
  • Bishop Annexes (between De Maisonneuve Blvd. W. and Sherbrooke St. W.)
  • LB - J.W. McConnell Building (1400 De Maisonneuve Blvd. W.)

The R. Howard Webster Library is also closed until further notice.

Please note that the shuttle bus stop (normally situated in front of the Hall Bldg.) has been temporarily relocated to the corner of Ste-Catherine St. W. and Mackay.
 


On July 7, 2016 at 4:10 p.m., Concordia’s Henry F. Hall Building and Annex Buildings (on Bishop St. between De Maisonneuve Blvd. W. and Sherbrooke St.) were evacuated due to a gas leak on a nearby construction site on Bishop Street.

 

Classes for the remainder of the day (July 7), in these affected buildings have been cancelled.
