In this hands-on session, participants will learn how to use specific iPad apps to create digital videos for courses using an iPad and upload them to Moodle. Here are just some of the ways instructors are using videos in their courses:
- As a supplement to readings and lectures to explain or review difficult concepts
- As part of a blended or flipped course to replace lectures
- To introduce the course/module (i.e. Go over syllabus, explain requirements or components of course, give a tour)
- To explain an assignment
- To capture in-class lectures and make them available online after class
- To give verbal feedback on assignments
- To clarify muddy points after an assessment/feedback from students

This session will focus on 3 commonly-used apps for making educational videos.

1. Explain Everything Classic
Create videos from images, files, web pages or a digital white/blackboard and audio narration with amazing capabilities. You can literally use this app to explain anything.
2. Tellagami
Create animated videos hosted by a customized avatar speaking with your voice.
3. GreenScreen (by Do Ink)
Use green (or blue) screen technology to create videos with multiple layers (for example the speaker with changing text/images in the background)

Workshop Requirements:
1. These apps are ONLY available for Apple iOS products, so you must bring an iPad with you to the workshop (an iPhone would also work but might be awkward).
2. Because of the hands-on nature of this workshop, participants should feel comfortable using an iPad. Specifically, participants should know how to download and manage apps, switch from one app to another easily, use the camera and photo apps, use the browser to navigate to specific web pages, and connect to wifi.
3. Please download the apps ahead of time and come with your Apple ID and password.
