Ara Karaboghossian holds Bachelor and Master of Arts degrees in political science (honours) and public policy and public administration from Concordia University. He is currently a PhD candidate at the Department of International Politics at Aberystwyth University. Ara has previously taught at the Department of Economics and Political Science at Vanier College (in Montreal) and has been a member of the part-time faculty at Concordia University’s Department of Political Science since 2006. He has also been employed in the non-profit, governmental and corporate sectors. His current research focuses on exploring the potential of adopting a practice approach to better apprehend and explain both the discontinuities and continuities connecting the global abolition of slavery to a set of global practices commonly referred to as contemporary forms of slavery.

Research interests

International relations theory, practice theory/approaches and constructivism.
