MA fellowship: Ethnic Diversity and Immigration in the Canadian Provinces

Dr. Antoine Bilodeau is offering one fellowship on the topic of Ethnic Diversity and Immigration in the Canadian Provinces for a student applying to the Concordia University’s MA in Political Science (for Fall 2017 entry). This fellowship is for a student interested in writing a thesis on the topic of ethnic diversity or immigration in one or several Canadian provinces. The fellowship is worth $12,000 for one year.

The selected candidate will be expected to assist Dr. Bilodeau with his current research conducted as part of the Provincial Diversity Project, a SSHRC-funded research project conducted with Luc Turgeon (Ottawa), Ailsa Henderson (Edinburgh), and Stephen White (Carleton) on the integration of immigrants and reactions to ethnic diversity and immigration in Canadian provinces.

The selected candidate will receive the fellowship in Year 1 of the MA program. The selected candidate will also be considered for additional entrance awards offered by the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, the School of Graduate Studies and the Department of Political Science.

The selected candidate will automatically become a member of the Centre for the Study of Democratic Citizenship, a FRQSC-regroupement stratégique, and hence become eligible for travel grants and for training grants.

The selected candidate will also be integrated into the team of researchers and students within Concordia’s Centre for Immigration Policy Evaluation.

  • Apply to the MA Political Science program at the Department of Political Science at Concordia University. Candidates must mention in their application their interest for this funding opportunity.
  • Note: a preference will be given to candidates who possess skills in quantitative analysis or express an interest in developing such skills.

*NOTE: this opportunity is limited to students applying to the MA in Political Science and is not available to students applying to the MPPPA program.
