Fostering Critical Thinking and Innovation in Teaching and Learning

Drop by for coffee and a faculty conversation with Calvin Kalman, Department of Physics and Principal of the Science College. Discover stories, insights and straight talk on teaching and learning.

As part of today's exchange we'll be talking about the concept of the flipped classroom and what we mean by “metacognitive” and Reflective Writing. What are the major benefits to teaching and learning in a multidisciplinary course like LBCL 298 / SCOL 398, Great Thinkers, Great Ideas, Great Debates: Big Ideas That Shape and Have Shaped Modern Civilization and how do we get started using strategies that promote critical thinking and innovation across the curriculum?
