What does the future hold for the economic development of indigenous communities in Quebec and Canada? And what role do Canadian universities have to play in the education of indigenous youth and the development of their professional skills?

The conversation will feature Assembly of the First Nations regional chief of Quebec and Labrador, Ghislain Picard in conversation with:

  • Elizabeth Fast, assistant professor, Applied Human Sciences, Concordia University
  • J.P. Gladu, president and CEO, Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business

The panel will tackle these issues and explore other topics related to the evolving relationship between Canadian indigenous communities and universities, such as: the UN Declaration of Rights of Indigenous People, natural resources and sustainable development, leadership and entrepreneurship.
