Jesse Ruddock

My research interests include contemporary poetry and poetics, the history of anatomy and physiology in the visual arts and literature, materialism, Marxism, and independent publishing practices.

My current project asks how poets writing today intervene in the discourse of anatomy to contribute new and generative perspectives on the human body.

My Master’s is from the University of Toronto, and my Bachelor’s is from Harvard. At Concordia, I am an affiliate with the Centre for Expanded Poetics and an instructor of Composition.

Beyond the university, I am an editor for the magazine Music & Literature and a writer. My articles and interviews have appeared in The NewYorker.com, N+1, BOMB, Vice, and more. My first novel, Shot-Blue, was published by Coach House Books in 2017.
