By Rebecca Tittler, Coordinator, Loyola College for Diversity and Sustainability

The Loyola College for Diversity and Sustainability (LCDS) is pleased to announce that they will once again be hosting the unique interfaculty course Orientation to International Community Engagement, during the Winter 2016-2017 semester.

This course is a collaboration between the Faculties of Arts and Science, Fine Arts and the John Molson School of Business, with faculty members each faculty teaching specific course components.

This year, guest faculty will include professors Satoshi Ikeda (Department of Sociology and Anthropology), Raymond Paquin (Management), Adeela Arshad-Ayaz (Department of Education), and Carmella Cucuzella (Department of Design and Computation Arts), among others. The course will be run by Professor Peter Graham (School of Community and Public Affairs / LCDS).

Orientation to International Community Engagement explores critical perspectives on intercultural engagement with local and international communities, addressing issues of ‘development’ theory, collaboration, volunteerism, collective action, sustainability, and entrepreneurship.

The course is open to all students from the above-mentioned faculties and to students partaking in the CEED program in the summer of 2017.
