MRI: The Material Religion Initiative presents a public lecture by Dr. Birgit Meyer.

Birgit Meyer (Religious Studies, Utrecht University) is one of Europe’s leading anthropologists of religion and the author of numerous ground-breaking works on religion, material and visual culture, including, most recently, Sensational Movies: Video, Vision and Christianity in Ghana (University of California Press, 2015). 

This public lecture is sponsored by the Centre for Interdisciplinary Studies in Society and Culture, the Global Emergent Media Lab, the Departments of Religion, Communication Studies, and Sociology & Anthropology, the Office of the Vice-President, Research and Graduate Studies, Concordia University.
