Sudhir Venkatesh (Columbia University) will lead a graduate student seminar on being a public intellectual.

The seminar will include a short documentary film screening and discussion of how academics can participate in public debates on social issues. Those interested in attending should read a short piece by Dr. Venkatesh titled "What's the Matter with Sociology" available at slate.com.
