Submissions

Abstracts will be accepted for either oral or poster presentation. You will be notified in early April regarding the acceptance of your abstract for presentation.

Presentation prizes

There will be two student prizes awarded by the Division of Surface Science of The Chemical Institute of Canada: the Peter Hobson Prize ($1,000) for the best student oral presentation and the Jean-Denis Carette Prize ($500) for the best student poster presentation. The Canadian Journal of Chemistry will award the runner-up student poster with $200.

Oral presentations

Oral presentations are 15 minutes long followed by up to 5 min of discussion. Please copy your presentation to the conference computer before your session begins. The computer is running Windows 7 with Power Point and Acrobat Reader.

Poster presentations

Your poster should be no wider than 4 feet and no longer than 4 feet. We recommend that you set up your poster at lunch on Wednesday and remove it after the poster session on Thursday. Pins will be provided.
