Meet @ the foot of Atwater at the Canal (between the Atwater Market and Canal).

Canal: Walking the Post-Industrial Lachine Canal is an audiowalk that takes listeners from the Atwater Market to the Saint Gabriel Lock, exploring the post-industrial transformation of a once heavily industrialized area. Over the course of the walk, you will hear stories from those who worked or lived alongside the canal. These memories speak to wide-ranging experiences, includings industrial work, strike action, racism, deindustrialization and gentrification. Participants should meet at the foot of Atwater Street where it meets the Canal, by the Market. It is a 10 minute walk from Lionel-Groulx Metro. You can download the audio walk at www.postindustrialmontreal.ca  and www.montrealpostindustriel.ca or use one of our mp3 players. Preregistration is required
