Position Description
The Department of Education at Concordia University in Montreal, Quebec, invites applications for one limited-term appointment in the BA in Child Studies program.

Applicants should have a Master’s or Ph.D. in Early Childhood Education, Child Studies, Educational or Developmental Psychology, or a related field, as well as relevant teaching experience at the university level. Expertise is required in two or more of the following areas: administration and leadership in childcare settings; the development and facilitation of children's play; early childhood curriculum and social policy; and Indigenous issues in education. A working knowledge of French and experience in early childhood settings as an educator or administrator are assets.

Successful candidates for this position must also demonstrate a willingness and ability to adapt course offerings to online formats as needed.

This position is subject to budgetary approval and department/unit need. Individuals holding limited-term appointments may be reappointed, given continued funding and need, as well as satisfactory job performance. Together, initial appointments and subsequent reappointments may not exceed 36 months or a span of three consecutive years. They are normally at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant Professor, beginning August 1, 2020 and ending May 14, 2021. Successful candidates will normally be expected to teach three courses per semester.  Candidates applying for a subsequent appointment are considered first.
