Recreation and athletics
Concordia’s sports facilities play an important role in providing an environment in which students and community members alike can reach their fitness goals through varsity athletics or recreational activities.

Recently, the university took the first steps toward improving its facilities by opening a new fitness centre on its downtown campus and erecting an inflatable dome on the Loyola Campus so its fields can be used throughout the winter.
Further plans include:
- Adding permanent stands and underground locker and training facilities at the football stadium
- Renovating the hockey arena
- Building a 25-metre swimming pool, triple gym and fitness centre
These improved facilities will enhance the experiences of intercollegiate student athletes both on the field and in the training room. They will also provide a safe and welcoming environment in which students and area residents can exercise and stay active all year long.
