Adopt-a-student program

The Concordia Adopt-a-Student Program was created to recognize that many full-time students depend on government financial aid, private loans and other sources of assistance. Yet, this much-needed support often fails to fully accommodate their needs. While tuition in Quebec is relatively low, it is but one portion of student expenses.

Students

At Concordia, students who reside in Quebec pay about $2,500 in tuition and fees per year to attend full-time. But for students who live on their own—and especially for those who have spouses and/or children to support—the cost of staying in school can be insurmountable. Add to this the cost of books and living expenses, such as rent, food, transportation and clothing and the price tag becomes steep.

The Concordia Adopt-a-Student Program allows you to help full-time students clear the financial hurdles that may be blocking their road to graduation and future success.

By adopting a student, you can provide direct financial assistance to an eligible individual and feel a sense of pride and gratification that your gift has directly helped someone reach his or her full potential. It is also a meaningful way for Concordia alumni and friends to ensure that the university can offer students of today and tomorrow the same outstanding higher education opportunities they enjoyed.

How to adopt a student

There are three ways you can change a student's life:

  • With a three-year commitment of at least $500, you have the privilege of naming a bursary, scholarship, or fellowship in your or someone else's name.
  • You may prefer to endow your contribution, making your support of a student a perpetual one.
  • You can also support the general Adopt-a-Student funds with a gift at any level by giving online.
