Scott Samuel, BComm 78, has been re-named to the reconstituted Board of Directors of Gatorz Inc. upon the closing of its proposed combination with No Fear Retail Stores Inc. Mr. Samuel is President, co-founder and sole shareholder of Investor Based Finance Group Inc., an independent investment advisory firm founded in 2003 and based in Oakville, Ontario.

Mark Camacho, BFA 86 (theatre performance), was mentioned in "The voice of video games", The Gazette, June 6, 2010. He is a frequent video game voice actor and director. A veteran film and TV actor, Camacho has been involved in video games since 1994's Jagged Alliance. He has since provided voices for more than a dozen games, and is working on his third as a voice director.Robert Cotterill, BA 94 (film studies/history), was featured in "Spotlight shining on Rothesay filmmaker", Telegraph-Journal (New Brunswick), June 7, 2010. In 2007, Cotterill and friends Jason Eisener and John Davies created a two-minute fake movie trailer for a contest. It won the contest and was featured in the previews for Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino's Grindhouse. The trio was approached by Alliance Films to turn the trailer into a feature-length film. This June, Cotterill finished filming the full-length movie version of Hobo with a Shotgun expected to appear in theatres across Canada next spring.

Emily Haines, BFA 97 (integrative music studies), was mentioned in "The countdown to The Twilight Saga: Eclipse Soundtrack is on", examiner.com, June 2, 2010. She is the lead singer of Canadian indie-rock band Metric, featured on the soundtrack to the film Eclipse, the third film of The Twilight Saga, due out this month.
Louise Jobin, BFA 96 (studio art), was mentioned in « Un duo d'artistes à L'espace contemporain », QuébecSpot Média, May 27, 2010. L'espace contemporain galerie d'art will present an exhibition of works by Jobin this June. She is a multidisciplinary artist who creates ceramics, handmade paper, paintings and sculptures.
Trevor Kiernander, BFA 06 (painting & drawing), was profiled in "Le chaos raffiné de Kiernander", Le Devoir, June 5, 2010. A collection of his artworks, "To Build a Home", is being shown this month at Galérie Art mûr in Montreal. Kiernander lives and works in Montreal and London, UK.
David Lipes, BA 00 (communication studies), was interviewed for "The voice of video games", The Gazette, June 6, 2010, in which he discusses Montreal's place in the video game industry. He is a founding partner at Montreal's Wave Generation Studios, which has done casting and dialogue recording for major videogame companies around the world.
Keer Tanchak, BFA 00 (studio art), was featured in "Blending the historical with the contemporary", The Vancouver Sun, June 4, 2010. Her paintings are on show at the Elissa Cristall Gallery in her hometown of Vancouver. She now lives in Chicago.

He is Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer at Pratt & Whitney Canada.
Philip Fayer, Attd 00 (JMSB), has been named one of "Canada's Top 40 Under 40". He is President and Chief Executive Officer of Pivotal Payments Corporation, a privately held Montreal-based credit card processing company that annually handles close to $7 billion of credit, debit and gift card transactions for more than 40,000 small to mid-sized merchants.
Peter Govan, GrDipl 79 (sports administration), a long-time Selwyn House School physical education teacher, has been awarded the Provincial Physical Education Teaching Excellence Award by Physical and Health Education Canada, a national charitable organization, and Wintergreen Phys-Ed, an education supply company.
Linda Gyulai, GrDipl 93 (journalism), civic affairs reported at The Gazette, was recognized for her award-winning series of articles investigating irregularities in how Montreal awarded a $355.8-million contract to install water meters in institutional and commercial buildings. The Gazette was awarded the prestigious 2009 Michener Award for public service journalism for her series. Gyulai also received an award from the Canadian Association of Journalists in the Open Newspaper/Wire Service category.
Stephen Halperin, S BA 72 (political science), has been chosen by Lexpert as one of Canada's Leading Business Lawyers for 2010. Halperin is a partner and a member of the Executive Committee and Co-Chair of the Corporate Securities Group at Goodmans LLP.
Édouard Lock, Attd 77 (arts and science), award-winning choreographer and founder of La La La Human Steps, is one of two winners of this year's Molson Prizes, presented by the Canada Council for the Arts. The $50,000 prizes recognize the recipients' outstanding lifetime achievements and ongoing contributions to the cultural and intellectual life of Canada. Lock has been named a Chevalier de l'Ordre du Québec and Officer of the Order of Canada.
Victor Malarek, Attd 74 (arts and science), has won a Canadian Association of Journalists award for outstanding journalism in Canada for 2009. He was a winner in the Open Television category for "Beyond Justice" (CTV: W-Five).
