Irving Layton's Centenary, Presented by Poetry Quebec and Concordia's Department of English

This year marks Irving Layton’s centenary. To commemorate this event, Poetry Quebec (PQ) in collaboration with infinitheatre and Concordia University will be hosting a birthday celebration/ceremony.

Includes readings by:

  • Jason Camlot, associate professor and chair, Concordia Department of English
  • Mary di Michele, poet and professor, Concordia Department of English
  • Steve Luxton, part-time instructor, Concordia Department of English
  • Gillian Sze, Concordia Creative Writing graduate

Free admission, but registration is required due to limited seating.

Poetry Quebec is also publishing a special Irving Layton issue that will be launched at this event. We invite you to participate by submitting any work– poems, essays, articles, reminiscences, photos – inspired by or focusing on Layton to the above email address. The deadline is February 15th, 2012. Please note, we will only publish poems in English.
