Chapter Co-Presidents
Russell Makofsky, BComm 07
A native of Long Island New York, Russ attended Concordia's John Molson School of Business. He was also a member of the Concordia Stingers Varsity Basketball team, and the VP of the Finance and Investment Student Association.
Russ founded the organization New York City Chess Inc. which currently operates many scholastic programs, tournament, and events throughout Manhattan. They have also recently acquired the World Famous Village Chess Shop in the Heart of Greenwich Village.
Alexandra Celine Wong, MBA 04
Licensed to practice law in Canada as well as in the US, Alexandra works at Rosensteel Law, where her primary focus is corporate organizations and commercial transactions. She also advises companies on various aspects of setting up a business presence in the U.S.

Dominic Faccone, S BEng 72
After graduating from Sir George Williams University in 1972, Dominic Faccone began what would become a long career in the steel industry at Sidbec-Dosco in Contrecoeur, Que. In 2000, Faccone joined engineering concern Tenova Group as president and chief executive before retiring in April of 2010. Faccone is fluent in English, Spanish, Italian and French and lives in Weddington, N.C.

Joanne and her family moved to San Jose in 1996. She has since received her teaching credentials and specializes in art, French and physical education. She’s starting her fifth year teaching French at a high school in the Bay Area.

Farasat A. Khawaja, BComm 80, GrDip 86, regional contact
Farasat Khawaja, worked as an auditor—and for a few years as a lecturer at Concordia—in Montreal until taking a position in Riyadh in 1994. He moved to Texas a few years ago and now makes his home in Dallas. Farasat is currently a consultant at HR Shaikh, Seyar, LLP.
