I didn't go to convocation — can you mail my diploma to me?

The Office of the Registrar will send diplomas via registered mail.

What does "alumni" mean?

Alumnus (the male singular of alumni) means "foster son, pupil," taken from the Latin alere, which means "to nourish." The definition is: "one who has attended or has graduated from a particular school, college or university."

  • A male graduate is an alumnus; several male graduates are alumni.
  • A female graduate is an alumna; several female graduates are alumnae.
  • The term alumni, however, is the generally accepted plural.

Become a member of the alumni association?

Upon graduation, all degree, diploma and certificate holders of Concordia University and its founding institutions, Loyola College and Sir George Williams University, are members of the alumni association for life.

Individuals who complete a minimum of 30 credits in a degree program at Concordia and are no longer full time students, are entitled to "attendee" status and alumni benefits, by requesting their Alumni ID Card.
