Gina Cody School Alumni Chapter

Summer Kick-off 2018 for Engineering and Computer Science alumni

Mission Statement

The Gina Cody School Alumni Chapter is a non-profit association performing its duties under the Concordia University Alumni Association (CUAA).

The chapter’s mission is to create a dynamic alumni culture that maintains the spirit of the Concordia University engineering and computer science educational experience and promotes the value of being a Gina Cody School graduate to both internal and external audiences.

This mission will be accomplished through the administration of the GCS Alumni Chapter by an Executive Committee composed of volunteers drawn from Concordia’s engineering and computer science alumni community. They will plan and execute GCS Alumni chapter activities that enable networking opportunities and social interactions among engineering and computer science alumni.

Stay in touch and follow us on LinkedIn and Facebook and Instagram.

Claude Martel

As the founding president of the Engineering and Computer Science Alumni Chapter — now the Gina cody School Alumni chapter — Mario has been active in the alumni community since 2004.

He is also a Director on the Concordia University Alumni Association board.

As a Project Management Analyst at the Canadian Space Agency, he accompanies project managers working on a large variety of projects to ensure their success within appropriate governance requirements.

Ana-Maria Medina Ramirez, MASc 17
Ana-Maria Medina Ramirez

Ana Maria is a mechanical engineer who, during her studies, made a breakthrough in producing highly energy absorbent materials for the automotive industry. With this achievement, she took Concordia to first place on a province competition for researchers and second place in the national level.

Currently, Ana Maria works for Bombardier as a materials and process engineer for the manufacture of private jets. She recently joined the chapter to continue being active in the community and supporting other engineers

Khaled Murywed, BEng 08
Khaled Murywed

After graduating with distinction from electrical engineering from Concordia, Khaled Murywed shifted his focus to software and built a career around software quality assurance. With roughly 10 years of experience in that domain, Khaled is now focusing on improving both quality and process in the software world.

During his free time, Khaled loves giving, and volunteering back to his community, including being part of Concordia's engineering and computer science alumni chapter, and organizing social events, which is critical to help achieve a work/life balance.

Nazanin Darbandi, BEng 10, MEng 13
Nazanin Darbandi

Nazanin finished her bachelors’ degree in Software Engineering as a co-op student and worked in multiple distinctive companies and institutes while finishing her degree. She went back to Concordia to pursue a master’s in information security. She was also an active member of the WIE community as a student and later on at work. Giving back to community and helping other women in engineering to succeed is what drives her to be part of the alumni chapter.
