Admission Requirements by Program/Faculty
Some programs require pre-requisite courses or a specific academic profile. Others may require a portfolio, interview or audition. Please consult Programs with additional requirements.
Some applicants may be required to take an English language proficiency test.
For full details on program prerequisites, grade requirements and availability, please refer to the Admission Requirements of the specific programs.
Program Length
In order to accommodate the varied educational backgrounds of our students, Concordia has implemented two structures of program length.
Regular Program
Because students in the province of Quebec must complete a minimum of 13 years of study prior to entering university, a regular degree program is normally 90 credits (three years). The following undergraduate degree programs require 120 credits (four years):
- All programs in Engineering
- Early Childhood and Elementary Education
- Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL)
- Specialization in Art Education
- Exercise Science/Athletic Therapy
Extended Credit Program (ECP)
Designed for students entering from secondary schools outside the province of Quebec. The ECP requires students to complete 30 credits in addition to the regular (90 or 120 credit) degree program. Some programs require students to take specific first-year courses.. See each degree description for specific details.
Mature Entry Program (MEP)
Canadians and Permanent Residents who are 21 years of age or older and who lack the normal pre-university schooling may be considered for admission to the MEP, which requires successful completion of a minimum of 18 additional credits. Mature entrants must meet certain conditions, please see Mature Entry.
