When will students hear back?

Some other factors that determine the length of time it takes to process an application:

• Volume of Students Applying:
  Concordia receives a large number of applications during the admissions cycle. As a result of this we strongly encourage you to provide any required documentation as soon as it becomes available. Once a file is complete – and all supporting documents are in – applications will then undergo a review. Decisions are constantly being sent out to students whose files are complete and have been reviewed by departments.
  
  
• Program Specific Considerations:
  As some programs require specific documents, portfolios, auditions and/or interviews, additional time is required to review these applications.
  
  
• Timing:
  If you are applying for admission to a semester for which we have yet to receive any grades (i.e. a year from time of application), a decision cannot not be made. We will need to see your interim or in progress grades before making a decision. Please ensure that the interim grades are uploaded as soon as they become available.

Once an application is complete and all supporting documents have been added to a student’s file, applicants will receive a response anywhere from 48 hours for Cegep students to eight weeks or more for International students. The process is very different for each student and program, and specific dates by when decisions are made cannot be given.

How to check the status of your application

If you are inquiring about the decision status of your application, visit the MyConcordia portal and click on the tab marked 'Application Center' in the left-hand column. Here, you can verify your status, see what documents the university has received as well as other pertinent information.

All admission decisions are communicated to applicants by email and regular post, not over the phone. Please check your email junk folder if you have never received any emails from Concordia.
