Tuesday, July 2, to Saturday, July 6, 2019
The Academic Leadership Institute’s 4.5-day case-based program is devoted to 4 themes of relevance for today’s academic leaders: managing talent; crisis communications; advancement; and, strategic planning. Each day’s programming is structured around 4 thematic cases prepared and presented by senior academic leaders based on their professional experience. As such, participants work through cases under the guidance of academic leaders reflecting on their lived professional experience with the subject matter—who are on hand to provide insight.
Each case builds on the previous day’s program, culminating in a plenary session, and begins with an integrative session inviting participants to reflect upon their individual leadership development. An introduction to peer-coaching is woven throughout the programming, so that participants may design such initiatives in their home institutions.
Given the Institute’s focus on collaborative exchange, the schedule includes unstructured time for group conversation, remote work—and participation in the wealth of socio-cultural activities that take place in summertime Montreal.
