Building Concordia University is a long-term project. We have been doing it for over a hundred years and we’re still at it – to deliver new and improved facilities to create the best possible learning, teaching and research environment to meet our present needs and to take us dynamically into the future.
Buildings are cultural artifacts and they reflect the fashionable architectural style of the times in which they were built or altered. But they do much more. Concordia's buildings not only reflect who we are and what we do, they also link us to our roots, tell us stories of our past, mark the evolution of our growth, and mirror our hopes and dreams.
Concordia is in a period of growth and change and our building projects are designed to keep up with our needs. In planning for the challenges of the twenty first century Concordia developed a bold strategic plan to be phased in over many years to meet the University’s changing space needs and to manage growth. The master building plan is an ongoing strategy that continues to be revised and adjusted. Current plans include:
