Scope

Reporting to the Manager, Government Reporting and Statistics, the incumbent is responsible for the accurate collection and reporting of enrolment data to the Ministère de l’Éducation, du Loisir et du Sport (MELS), including processing of documentation for creation of permanent codes and coding of MELS fee remissions.

Primary responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate GDEU reporting including error analysis and correction.
  • Prepare and recommend assignment of CLARDER codes to new courses and Graduate Research Programs for approval by the Manager.
  • Monitor the permanent code process to ensure that students provide correct information and forward data to the MELS for permanent code creation at the Ministry.
  • Review registration of students in French programs and determine which category should be coded with a differential fee remission.
  • Process international student fee remissions, by country, in accordance with MELS directives.
  • Process all requests for change relating to student name or gender according to established procedures.
  • Extract, compile and verify statistical data for special projects and production of reports.
  • Perform other duties in support of operation of the unit.

Requirements

  • Diploma of Collegial Studies (two-year DEC) and two to four years of related work experience.
  • Good spoken English and French (Level 4) in order to communicate effectively with students, staff and MELS representatives. Good written English (Level 4) and basic written French (Level 3) in order to draft correspondence and reports.
  • Basic knowledge of Word (to create and update documents) and Intermediate knowledge of Access and Excel (to work with databases and spreadsheets).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to deal firmly but politely with students and other concerned parties.
  • Excellent organizational skills in order to effectively organize work and set work priorities under time constraints.
  • Keen attention to details.
  • Aptitude to work in a service-oriented environment as both a member of a team and independently.

Salary

$21.79 – $26.23 per hour
