Scope

Reporting to the Associate Dean, Professional Graduate Programs, the incumbent will deliver renewed direction and operational effectiveness for all recruitment activities within the Executive Graduate Programs at the John Molson School of Business (e.g., EMBA and MBA/CFA). He/she will develop and execute an integrated, coherent marketing and recruitment plan that ensures quality growth within the programs.

Primary responsibilities

  • Develop, coordinate and implement marketing and recruitment strategies for JMSB’s executive graduate programs in consultation with the Associate Dean, Program Directors and the Dean.
  • Review available recruitment/enrolment data as well as conduct and/or oversee recruitment/enrolment market research to support data driven decisions.
  • Establish strong links with organizations as a source of student referrals
  • Hire, direct and supervise staff in the Recruitment Unit. Identify training needs and introduce professional development opportunities in support of the needs of the Recruitment Unit.
  • Work with JMSB’s other graduate programs to ensure the development of coherence in strategies.
  • Work closely with curriculum committees, academic directors and the associate dean to ensure that market forces, expectations and other perceptions are reflected in our programs.
  • Recommend and manage a budget for the unit.
  • Put in place an enrollment management system and strategies that facilitate all phases of the recruitment process.
  • Act as the primary recruitment officer at events, activities and other initiatives intended to recruit candidates for the programs.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree (MBA or Business related) with at least seven years of relevant managerial experience, including at least four within a University environment.
  • Strong knowledge of recruitment tools and technology, particularly those used for executive recruitment.
  • Excellent knowledge of the executive education domain (e.g. research, trends and practices).
  • Experience working with recruitment, enrolment management strategies and academic policies.
  • Good spoken and written English and French (Level 4) in order to communicate effectively and to draft correspondence, documentation, and reports.
  • Experience in business-process analysis and design; familiarity with the latest client-service trends as they relate to the recruitment function.
  • Experience in the development and implementation of marketing strategies relevant to the domain of executive education.
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership and communication skills with demonstrated public speaking/presentation abilities.
  • Extensive experience in working and interacting with high level business executives.
  • Demonstrated planning, organizational and decision-making skills, coupled with the ability to establish and respond to priorities in a fast-paced results-oriented setting.
  • Knowledge (basic level) of Word, good knowledge (intermediate level) of Excel and PowerPoint (to create spreadsheets and to develop interactive presentations).
  • Self-starter with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to motivate people
  • Proven team leader and team builder, with ability to foster a positive team environment.
