Scope

Reporting to Director of Administration, the incumbent is responsible for the ongoing development and maintenance of JMSB administrative and academic facilities for teaching and research, as well as, planning and implementation of systems to maximize access.

Primary responsibilities

  • Ensure that JMSB facilities are maintained in such a manner that is appropriate for a business school and that safety codes, policies and procedures are understood and respected.
  • Oversee maintenance and renovations of JMSB facilities, equipment/furniture. Inspect, recommend, initiate and prepare forms/reports. Oversee and supervise internal/external contractors for renovations.
  • Ensure that offices are prepared for new, returning and departing faculty and staff. Responsible for sabbatical storage.
  • Responsible for managing JMSB access to the key management system, security access system, etc.
  • Prepare and monitor annual budget for furniture, equipment, kitchen supplies, renovations and maintenance of Faculty facilities.
  • Prepare and update JMSB space reports, Department Emergency Preparedness Plan (DEPP) and other facilities related information.
  • Responsible for allocating and managing JMSB space according to policies.
  • Liaise with other University services such as Facilities Management, Security, IITS, Purchasing Services and Hospitality Concordia.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director of Administration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a field pertinent to the primary responsibilities and four to seven years of related work experience.
  • Knowledge and experience in JMSB an asset.
  • Knowledge of building, fire and safety codes.
  • Good spoken and written English (Level 4) in order to prepare correspondence, reports, proposals, etc.; and good spoken French (Level 4) in order to communicate with external contacts.
  • Knowledge (Basic level) of Word (to update and prepare documents) and good knowledge (Intermediate level) of Excel (to create and update spreadsheets and reports).
  • Excellent organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Superior problem solving skills.
  • Service oriented.
  • Ability to work independently and set priorities, while being able to work as part of a team.

Salary

$62,844.09 - $75,104.50 per annum
