Note

This is a full-time maternity leave replacement position effective until February 28,2014.

Scope

Reporting to the Director, Project Management, the incumbent provides project services to the Project Management group, as well as to the Associate Vice-President, Facilities Management in the successful realization of current and upcoming projects.

Primary responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain and analyze overall program schedules for all categories of projects (Major, PQI, Infrastructure) and for all phases of the project (pre-planning/strategic plan, development, planning, design, construction, commissioning).
  • Implement and maintain summary cost profile in overall programs: estimates, revised estimates, approved funding and actual costs.
  • Perform and report on all performance measures for the Maestro survey (Modèle de Modélisation, d’Analyse et l’Évaluation STRatégique) organized by the AGPI (Association des Gestionnaires de Parcs Immobiliers) and the FPI (Facilities Performance Indicators) survey organized by the APPA (Association of Physical Plant Administrators); benchmark the results received against the ones of other Universities.
  • Implement initiatives for Total Quality Management and for Continuous Improvement and develop plans and procedures in order to improve the performance measures.
  • Liaise with the government for all project reporting requirements (MELS, subsidies, etc).
  • Manage the Master Blanket Partnership agreements with professional and contractors.
  • Update and maintain master and legal contract documents for architectural, engineering, and construction services: letters of intent to Consultants, Contractors and Suppliers, and other standard documents and spreadsheets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a field pertinent to the primary responsibilities and two to four years of related work experience in the project/construction management field.
  • Project Management Institute (PMI) certified is an asset.
  • Very good knowledge of spoken English and French (Level 5) in order to communicate with service providers and internal clients and good knowledge of English and French (Level 4) in order to work with legal documents.
  • Very good knowledge (Intermediate level) of Word and of Excel (to prepare letters and spreadsheets). Experience with Windows platform.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritizing skills and ability to handle competing demands.
  • Demonstrated pro-active attitude in order to follow up on and conclude outstanding issues satisfactorily.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team, with diverse groups of people.

Salary

$49,240.27 to $58,846.68 per annum
