Faculty Relations

The central mission of the university is facilitated by a work environment that accords with applicable collective agreements, provides necessary training and support, and handles conflicts in a fair, collaborative and transparent manner. One of the central missions of the Faculty Relations group is to help develop such a work environment for all academic staff.

Faculty Relations promotes best practices in academic leadership; provides training and information on changes to collective agreements and policies; and creates opportunities for professional development including the development of workshops and mentoring opportunities for faculty members. 

Faculty Relations is also responsible for the establishment, development and maintenance of Concordia's Faculty Resource Information System (FRIS), which is the hub for faculty workload assignment as well as the hiring of part-time faculty members and teaching assistants.

Faculty personnel procedures

Faculty personnel administration is overseen by the Academic Operations group, which provides guidance and support to the Faculties and the Library in order to ensure compliance with the collective agreements of full-time faculty and librarians, and part-time faculty.
